Friends of the Cumberland Trail State Park

The mission of Friends of the Cumberland Trail State Park is to build a 300 mile long trail/park from the Cumberland Gap on the Tennessee/Kentucky state line extending to just outside Chattanooga. As of Spring 2009 about half of the trail has been completed. The Cumberland Trail will traverse the Cumberland Plateau which will afford quality hiking/backpacking in addition to a biodiverse wonderland of flora and fauna, and unique cultural and historical significant features for the education of our youth and adults alike. A major portion of our focus is getter folks, especially kids, outside for educational and enjoyment of our natural resources, and exercise for mental as well as physical health.
