Mesothelioma Research Foundation of America

To fund research that will lead to the quickest cure for mesothelioma, a cancer of the lining of the lungs caused by asbestos exposure. This disease has very few treatment options at this time. The foundation has funded the opening of the Mesothelioma Laboratory which has received FDA approval to do clinical trials on a new mesothelioma drug called veglin. This research was 100% funded by the foundation. The drug trials have proven successful since the trials began in 2001.

Though our community outreach events around the Mid-Atlantic region, we teach and encourage responsible pet ownership and pet population control. Our all-volunteer organization works diligently to locate loving and responsible owners who wish to make their new dog(s) members of their family - forever. Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League

The Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League is staffed completely by volunteers. MAGDRL helps people determine the right breed of dog for their lifestyle, find healthy and companionable Danes that fill their circumstanced, find loving replacement homes for Danes they can no longer keep, become knowledgeable about the care and training of their Great Danes,resolve their Danes physical/behavior problems, overcome the grief at the loss of their loved pet, stretch their tax dollar by assuming the Dane burden from public shelters. MAGDRL helps Danes by providing for the rescue and care of those who have been abondoned, neglected and/or abused by their previous owners. We spay/neuter and provide medical treatment as necessary to return the Dane back to good health. We work to place rescue Danes to people who provide secure, loving, and healthy homes.

Minorities in Broadcasting Training Program

Offer opportunities to those individuals who have encountered substantial difficulty in gaining access to broadcast careers. The goal of the program is the development of writing, editing, producing and reporting skills. Each trainee will complete the program with a thorough understanding of all aspects of television and/or radio news broadcasting or production. They will then qualify for entry-level positions in small-medium size markets.
